Food supply chain waste could act as a source of carbon for the production of sustainable chemicals, materials and fuels

To provide an integrated alternative renewable source of carbon for the production of industrially relevant bio-derived chemicals, fuels and materials via the exploration of novel and advanced routes for food supply chain waste valorisation.

Research directions:
Bringing together a critical mass of interdisciplinary researchers working on food waste valorisation
Meetings (WGs, MC, workshops), online portal for information collection and collaboration, STSMs
Food waste mapping – gathering data on the nature, volumes and timings of food waste availability to assess the most promising sources for research and eventual industrial scale-up.
