Buy new or used from college bookstores, the web, etc. You can share one with another student who is NOT in 201 with you. Either Version 1 or Version 2 is OK for 201. Ver 1 is not manufactured but may be available used more cheaply than Ver 2. iClicker phone App is NOT ACCEPTABLE to register with your UA NetID (2 letter initials plus digits) You can use the iClicker before registering.

Some textbook chapters from Gaddis, Starting out w/ Java, watermelon book. Guzdial/Ericson, Intro Comp/Prog, Multimedia App, Red Georgia Tech book (FREE download of BookClasses code and documentation.) MyProgrammingLab online short programming problem learing system.

4 Textbooks and big notebooks forbidden during the 2 exams
Textbooks and big notebooks forbidden during the 2 exams. (1 paper sheet of notes encouraged) SO... if you share textbooks, having a textbook gives one no advantage during the exams.

5 Pearson's easiest option
Buy the shrink-wrapped UAlbany package at UA Bookstore or (cheaper) Mary Jane's (Western Ave.) Everything PLUS 1-yr online access to the entire Gaddis book.

6 Pearson's electronic options
MyProgrammingLab WITH 1-yr electronic access to Gaddis' $91.30 MyProgrammingLab WITHOUT Gaddis' etext. $42.40 You'll need the Gaddis readings from other sources: Old and/ or used editions, shared, etc, used UA Green bk. With these, you'll ALSO need access to a few of the Guzdial/Ericson chapters: Get them from the green book or share/borrow a used copy of the full G/E book.

11 Hi Seth, After they have paid either by access code or credit card they are asked to login to MyProgrammingLab. When they login to MyProgrammingLab for the first time, it will ask the student for their Course Code/ID which will link them to your course. This is when they will enter the following code that is specific to your Spring 2014 course: Section Access Code (Course ID): UATA QEPD-19 I hope this helps!
