Harry William Catherine Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health. Heads Together wants to help people feel much more comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing and have the practical tools to support their friends and family.

9 Myths/facts Myth: Young people just go through ups and downs as part of puberty, it’s nothing. Fact: 1 in 10 young people will experience a mental health problem. Myth: People with mental health illnesses are usually violent and unpredictable. Fact: People with a mental illness are more likely to be a victim of violence. Myth: People with mental health problems don't experience discrimination Fact: 9 out of 10 people with mental health problems experience stigma and discrimination.

12 Asking for Help We all need a bit of help sometimes. But it can be difficult to know how, or who, to ask. Who can you ask for help? Your family – parents or carers, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles or cousins Trusted friends – your own friends, or friends of the family, neighbours  Professionals – your GP, a doctor or nurse, a social worker, a teacher A community support group  PLEASE SEEK SUPPORT – DON’T DEAL WITH IT ALONE
