2. C.I.S Engineering started trading in 1998 as Central Information Services in Vereeniging. The company was restructured into C.I.S Engineering in and forms part of the Structa Group of Companies.

C.I.S Engineering is located in NW7, Vanderbijlpark. Our premises occupy a combined area of 34,000m2 which includes:

Design, Manufacture and Install Structural Steelwork for:

Automated Angle Processing and automated beam drilling lines are capable of high volume and accurate manufacturing
High definition plasma cutting facilities to manufacture flanges, connecting elements and lattice towers.

7. SUBSTATION STEELWORK Process Surface Finish
Supplies and Erects Sub-Station Steelwork to ESKOM requirements.
Lattice steelwork is manufactured with automated angle processing machinery and beam drilling lines to ensure high quality and high volume can be achieved.
All towers are hot dip galvanized to SANS 121.

8. COMMUNICATION TOWERS Process Surface Finish
Designs and manufactures a wide range of communication towers, typically ranging from 10-60m in light, medium and heavy loading ranges.
Some such structures have been supplied to industries since 1998.
Capabilities include manufacturing of tubular and angle lattice structures.
Also supplies turnkey services for foundation building and tower erection.
Lattice towers are manufactured with automated angle processing machinery to achieve high volumes and high quality.
Materials can be hot dip galvanized to SANS 121 or painted to customer spec.

9. ELECTRICITY PYLONS
Designed and fabricated sectional steel pylons for distribution and electrification lines, up to 400kV
Listed as commodity items with ESKOM National.
Standard range all type tested at ESKOM Tower Testing
Successfully supplied in excess of 31,500 sectional towers (pylons) to electrification industry.

10. SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT
Boasts ISO certification for welded manufacturing and is able to perform:
Pedinghaus computer numerically controlled drilling on base plates, flanges, beams and columns
Bending of polygonal poles with a plate thickness of up to 16mm and a length of up to 11,500mm in one complete section
Plasma cutting up to 45mm and oxy- cutting up to 300mm
Automated submerged arc welding up to 4,000mm in diameter

11. ENGINEERING & DESIGN
C.I.S Engineering is certified to ISO 9001:2008 and the system covers all aspects of the design and manufacturing process.
C.I.S Engineering has access to modern structural analysis techniques such as Finite Element Analysis and designs can therefore be verified in great detail. All designs are approved by professional engineers.
Full 3D CAD systems include Allycad, Solid Edge & Tekla.
Where required our structures undergo full-scale structural qualification testing.
