3 what does DNS Do? Basically DNS converts websites into the IP address:
Google.co.uk The purpose of DNS The purpose of DNS is simple, its used to make humans life’s allot easier. For example it is easier to remember a website, such as facebook.co.uk. But imagine trying to remember the IP address.

4 The size of DNS Originally DNS doesn’t have a limited size, but it is able to store a huge amount of data at least over 800million records

Name server Name space Resolver Name space Provides the structure of the DNS database, for example each domain has its own unique name. The domain name space has a hierarchy structure. For example the route domain is at the top, below the rote could be an organisational type, for example com, net and co.uk below the organisational type would be the organisation or company, such as youtube.co.uk or myspace.com also it is possible the second domain could have sub domains. Name server The names server is globally connected to the networks, such as each zone would have a master name or a primary name. This would have its own authority source. The name server is required for the domain name system, in order to make DNS work. Also the name server is used to store complete information about a zone, the name sever is known to be divided into two different branches. Resolver The resolver is a component that DNS uses, for the software, the resolver would be implemented into the IP stack. DNS Cache

7 Dns cache poisoning The definition of DNS cache poisoning is that when it damages your computer. DNS cache poisoning is a technique that it used to fool your computer, for example you would think that you’re going onto the Barclays web browser. But actually you have been affected by the DNS cache poisoning. For example you have entered but actually you have been poisoned. The role that DNS cache does is that it saves you a trip to the DNS server, for example you wanted to go to YouTube, instead of the DNS looking for the site, and it sends an IP address, which the user could access there site. This is where the DNS cache poisoning fits in, for example it would poison your DNS cache, which would make you think you’re going onto the site, but actually your going into another site, which could cause a lot of damage.
