1. This image illustrates a transverse view of the trachea and esophagus during an esophageal intubation. Note in this image that the esophagus is visualized posterior and lateral to the trachea. Two parallel echogenic lines are seen in the proximal esophagus representing the inner and outer endotracheal tube walls as it passes through the lumen of the esophagus.
