Show your pupils this short film about Hassan, a 12-year-old boy from Freetown in Sierra Leone, Africa. Hassan became an orphan when his mother died of Ebola. But the good news is a project funded by Red Nose Day cash is helping him. Street Child Sierra Leone has enabled Hassan to continue going to school by helping to cover his school fees and providing him with a backpack and books.

8. How will our money make a difference
In Africa, £4 could fully vaccinate a child against five deadly childhood diseases.
£3 could pay for a counselling session for a child who has lost their parents to Ebola in Sierra Leone.
In the UK, £10 could provide three days of nutritious hot meals for a homeless young people.
As you’ve seen from the film, Red Nose Day money changes lives for the better. That’s why so many people across the UK come together to fundraise for Red Nose Day. And that’s why we’re going to do our best to raise as much money as we can.

9. So what shall we do this Red Nose Day?
If you already have plans for Red Nose Day, share them with the pupils now. People all over the country are going to be doing fun things to raise money for Red Nose Day. What shall we do?
There are so many fun things to choose from. How about dressing up as a red nose, a talent show, getting sponsored to take on a challenge, or organising a bake sale?
