If you paid in your fundraising money using one of the schools’ paying in methods ( an official Red Nose Day certificate will be posted to you between June and October, depending on when you paid in. (Sorry for the delay – it can take a little while for our volunteers to process all the money you wonderful schools have raised).

4. £1 could enable a mental health charity to answer a call from an isolated young person in the UK.
In the UK, just £20 could pay for a nights’ emergency accommodation and support for a family who have fled domestic violence.
Use the examples above to demonstrate how the money you raised could help to change lives. You can scale up the examples to match the total amount your school raised e.g.: £300 could pay for year-long training apprenticeships for three young people living on the streets of Kenya.

5. Explain to students that by raising money for Red Nose Day, they are playing their part in changing the world for the better.
Share the inspiring story of 16-year-old Ikmatu from Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. Thanks to Red Nose Day cash, Ikmatu trained as a peer educator when her country was struck by the deadly and highly contagious disease Ebola. Showing remarkable courage, she went out onto the streets to educate people in her community about how to avoid the disease, potentially saving many lives.

6. Catherine has been able to achieve things she never could have done before she got involved in Off the Record. The organisation uses Red Nose Day cash to help provide one-to-one counselling services and also funds Mentality, a group that empowers young people to develop public mental health campaigns and resources.
“The Mentality project has been really good. This project is one of a kind. It means now I can make life for other people easier. I’ve met loads of amazing people here and learnt a lot of new skills. Even though I’m here to do campaign work, its also like a weight off my shoulders. I do stuff I enjoy and I feel like I’m making a difference . I can help by changing people’s perceptions”
