Remember to:
Say the number names independently, in order, and from any starting point forwards and backwards.
Teach the ‘teen’ number in isolation, include 11 and 12.
Extend to counting objects, things and finally amounts and measures.
Count in 2s, 5s, 10s and 25s. These special numbers open up the wider mathematics curriculum.
NB: Extend to counting in fractions and decimals.

Remember to:
Include all numbers that are multiplied by zero equal zero.
Multiples of 10 are vital to all mathematical learning.
Learn the square (numbers multiplied by themselves – 6 x 6) and prime ( numbers that can only be divided by themselves and one – 13) that numbers.
NB: Learn the equivalent Roman Numerals – I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII,
XXX, XL, L, LX, LXX, LXXX, XC, C, D, M.
