How can I help? Watch film versions/TV adaptations of the texts Purchase a copy of the texts so that students can annotate them Buy study guides e.g. York notes (other guides will become available) Read 19th century literature - e.g. Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, Tess of the D’ Urbervilles, Treasure Island, Far from the Madding Crowd, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Research the Industrial Revolution/Victorian Britain Research Shakespearian theatres Research attitudes and values of Shakespearian Britain Learn key quotations from the texts English Literature Assessment Objectives A01: Read, understand and respond to texts. Students should be able to: Maintain a critical style and develop and informed personal response. Use textual references, including quotations, to support and illustrate interpretations. A02: Analyse the language, form and structure used by a writer to create meanings and effect, using relevant subject terminology where appropriate. A03: Show understanding of the relationships between texts and the contexts in which they were written. A04: Use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity. Purpose and effect with accurate spelling and punctuation.
