3 Polders Human Environmental interaction that Increased livable land in the Netherlands. Polders 40% of the Netherlands was once under water They reclaim the land by building and draining the land. Page 282 IQP # 6 The biggest problem with polders is that water can seep back under the dike.

5 Canals of Venice Human Environmental interaction where humans have created canals to navigate the city of Venice, Italy. City is made up of 120 islands. They depend on over 150 canals to move around the city. Many of the buildings are supported by huge pillars City is sinking today.
