4 School Counselors 9th grade to graduation
Classroom Guidance – counselors instruct students on a variety of topics each year in High School. Academic Advising – counselors work with students on their progress to graduation and college preparation. Social/personal individual counseling – for students who are having difficulty with personal relationships or internal struggles. Our teachers provide instruction, engagement, enrichment through clubs and sports, and additional assistance through after school tutoring.

You’ll be challenged to think for yourself and make good decisions. Which classes to take How to manage your time Good attendance Which activities to take part in Getting to class on time Whether to join any clubs or teams Planning a study schedule You’ll also have to start thinking about college or job training and possible career choices. Adjusting to new school rules

8 Requirements Cont. 1 Hope Credit 1 Fine Art Credit or *Practical arts *(Commercial arts, Digital Informational Technology, Culinary Arts 2; Early Childhood 2) 8 Elective Credits 24 credits total 2.0 GPA Pass Grade 10th ELA FSA Reading & Pass FSA Algebra 1 YOU NEED 5 CREDITS (passed English 1 and MathTO BE PROMOTED TO 10TH GRADE

9 ACCEL - 3 years option (EARLY GRADUATION OPTION)
No HOPE required NO ONLINE REQUIREMENT 3 Elective Credits 18 credits 2.0 GPA Pass Grade 10th ELA FSA Reading & Pass FSA Algebra 1 Parents must sign. 12 UNDERSTANDING YOUR GPA
GPA=GRADE POINT AVERAGE GPA: is simply the average of your semester grades, starting with your freshman year. We have two semester per year. Your GPA is updates twice a year After Midterm exams After Final exams

13 How important is my GPA? Your Grade Point Average (GPA)
You must have at least a 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA to graduate Every class you take counts – including HS credits taken in middle school Every D (1 point) or F (0 points) reduces your GPA and hurts your chance for a successful graduation Honors and AP classes count more than regular!

14 UNDERSTANDING YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
High school transcript is a document that details a student’s academic achievement in grades It keeps your record of all your grades: GPA (Unweighted and Weighted) CLASS RANK (shows where students stand in relation with other members of their class) State graduation requirements State graduation test scores College test scores (PSAT, PERT, ACT and SAT)
