1. Elisabeth and her Hummingbird

2. Once upon a time there was a little girl named Elisabeth
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Elisabeth. She had lovely parents and a baby brother.

3. On Elisabeth’s 10th birthday she got a baby little humming bird that had a broken wing. Her parents said, “We give you this gift for you to take care of, you got to be responsible and caring to this bird and when it gets big and strong you let your bird go”. Elisabeth agreed and ran away with her bird in her hands.

4. Elisabeth loved her humming bird so much
Elisabeth loved her humming bird so much. For years she took care of the humming bird. Together they would play all day and Elisabeth would tell her little humming bird stories all night.

5. Her humming bird got bigger and stronger
Her humming bird got bigger and stronger. The little humming bird was not so little anymore. And Elisabeth realized that she had to let her bird go

6. So, on the day before Elisabeth’s 13th birthday she went to the highest hill in the village and sat on a rock with her humming bird. “I am going to miss you little humming bird but please come back and visit” Elisabeth cried as she opened her hands and her humming bird flutters away.

7. Elisabeth went back down her home and tells her parents that she has let her little bird go. “You are so responsible and brave. You helped the little bird get big and strong and you know when to let it go” Elisabeth’s mother says as she kisses her on the head.

8. The next couple days was hard for Elisabeth
The next couple days was hard for Elisabeth. As she was reading on her bed she heard a humming noise at her window. She got up and saw her little humming bird fluttering outside her window. Elisabeth was so happy to see her humming bird again. And everyday and the same time her little humming bird comes to visit.

9. And they lived happily ever after. The End
