3. Measure Updates CMS switch to MIPS / non-MIPS measures
CMS requested to “harmonize non-MIPS measures
Waiting on CMS to determine non-MIPS measure identifiers.
AQI devised new measure specific coding system for non-MIPS measure to replace “ASA[0-9][0-9][A-Z]” measure codes.
New codes will use: [0-9][0-9][A-Z] [0-9][0-9] or current CPT II codes, or HCPCS codes.
Some measures will require ICD codes, CPT Modifier values, or CMS Place of Service codes.

4. Data Definitions
ASA and AQI worked with ASA committees to define several values for NACOR. These standardized definitions requires some changes in how AQI needs to capture data.
NACOR minimum data set

Outcomes data set
Required changes to enumerated values, some XML node names, new data fields.

5. Simplifying Rosters
For 2017, AQI has decided not to require provider rosters any longer. We will instead allow data to define the provider roster population for each practice.
Removal of the “StaffID” replace with “TaxID”

6. Improving Data Processing
Added XML Schema version
Values: 2017V1.0 and 2017V1.0R
“R” identifies files for replacing data or overwrite data in NACOR.
Added optional values for ing data submitters in the record header.
