4 ON THE HOMEFRONT…what was happening back home??
American soldiers could not win war alone. Entire economy had to be refocused on war effort. Needed to make shift from producing consumer goods to war supplies.

5 Continued… Women and the rest of society would face far reaching changes. Power of government expanded; President Wilson given control over economy to fix prices and regulate war-related industries—War Industries Board. Turn to Page 390.
