Dear Parents,
In this edition of our Newsletter you will be reading about some important dates and events coming up during the month of October.
No School/Workshop Day
Absentee Calls
Please be advised there will be no school on Friday, October 7th due to Teacher Workshop Day.
A reminder to all parents/guardians: To ensure safety, if your child is absent or tardy, parents are asked to fill out the on-line form or call the automated telephone system.
To call: , listen for prompt number 3 to report the absence.
On line:
Click on forms then Click on Dr. H.O. Smith Absentee Form.
If your child is tardy, he/she should report to the office for a tardy slip.
Picture Day
Individual pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 5th. Please send in your picture forms with your child as they will give it to the photographer the day they have their photo taken.
NURSE’S CORNER
Reminder……
If your child has a physical during the course of this school year, could you please send in a copy of their physical to the school.
There are still a few families who have not turned in a copy of their child’s physical and immunizations. Please do so as soon as possible. State Law requires us to have these documents on file.
Please remember to dress your child according to the cooler temperatures. They are playing outside and will need proper foot attire and a jacket. Thank you, Linda Philcrantz, Nurse

Lost and Found
Please write your child’s name on everything he/she brings to school with a permanent marker. In the event your child misplaces an item, the office will be able to return the item quickly. Items not able to be identified are placed in the lost and found located on a table by the cafeteria. When you visit the school, you should check the lost and found for any missing items.

2. NEWS FROM THE CAFE ART NEWS 2016
The cafeteria has started to sell ice cream to the children each Friday. It would be very helpful for the children if you were to include ice cream money (.50) in their lunch accounts. It will prevent a lot of lost quarters. Thank you, Mrs. Zelonis (Cafeteria Manger)

We are off to a great start in the Art! All of your child’s artwork will be collected in a portfolio and sent home in June. You can view an image of artwork projects on Artsonia.
