1 TV Presenters. Ffion o'donnell

2 introduction In this power point I'm going to be talking about two very different television presenters. I have chosen Graham Norton and Jon Snow. I am going to be talking about the differences in their presenting styles and the contrasts between them.

3 Graham norton Graham Norton is an Irish television presenter, radio presenter, DJ, comedian, actor and writer.  He has his own show called ‘The Graham Norton Show’. Grahams presenting style is quite lively and energetic while presenting.  The people that would be on The Graham Norton Show would be actors and big well known stars.

4 Genre and show content Graham Norton follows a very comedic genre.
Graham tries to keep the audience entertained and laughing throughout his show Graham uses a monologue and other comedy sketches, which include eccentric stories and characters, while also having celebrity guests and musical performers on the show  Graham talks about current events going on in the celebrity world, keeping the viewer interested.

5 Interviewing style When interviewing people Graham makes a lot of small talk. He uses a conversation technique rather than interview which makes the person hes interviewing feel more comfortable and gives a safe environment. He often mentions roles or upcoming events that the people he's interviewing are apart of, letting them promote themselves.  Graham has a very relaxed and comedic style of interviewing.

6 Host presentation/Staging and audience
In most of his shows Graham would tend to wear a casual shirt and trousers with a blazer or a suit The staging and set up of the show is quite simplistic, it had a curved long sofa with a coffee table for the guests and graham sits beside a computer screen he uses throughout the show.  The main target audience for the Graham Norton show would be young adults. He has a live audience every show, getting them involved in the shows sometimes.

7 Jon Snow  Jon Snow is an English journalist and tv presenter currently working in ITN. He is best known for his role as longest running presenter of Channel 4 News Jon's presenting style is quite formal and straightforward.

8 Genre and show content  Jon would follow a very serious and formal genre compared to Graham. He would cover very serious topics on the news on channel 4, eg. Brexit where as Graham would have more happy and entertaining topics of discussion   He would often talk to the camera about serious issues. Sometimes having in studio interviews with people.

9 Interviewing style Jon's style of interviewing is very formal and would have a lot of the questions pre planned.  He gives a lot of open ended questions allowing the interviewee to elaborate. He can appear intimidating but this works when getting answers to his questions which is quite unlike Graham Norton who is very friendly during interviews.

10 Host presentation/staging and audience
Jon is always dressed quite formally in a suit and tie during his shows.  There is an average news desk set up with jon behind a desk facing the camera talking directly into it with a lot of dull colours, unlike Graham whose setup seems to be very lively and bright.  His target audience would be of the older generation, his shows are broadcasted live to millions all over the world.
