The Commission granted S&WB delegated authority in June of The S&WB has delegated authority for 63 job classifications. Delegated authority includes: Posting Departmental Vacancies to Application (S&WB Website only) Recruiting for Vacancies Evaluating candidates for eligibility for positions Creating lists of eligible candidates Certifying lists of eligible candidates for appointment Hiring from lists of eligible candidates Between January 2017 and June 2017, it took the Civil Service Staff an average of 5 days to provide a list of eligible candidates to the S&WB after approving a request to fill a city-wide classification. The S&WB, through delegated authority, certified its own lists of S&WB-specific classifications. Between March 2017 and June 2017 it took the S&WB an average of 9.7 days to certify its own list of eligible candidates. 16
