Discriminant validity and best cutoff values to differentiate disease activity states of ESR (Fig. 1a) and C-reactive protein (Fig. 1b); both reflecting the combined derivation and validation cohorts. Disease activity states were defined by the PUCAI, as previously established.4 For simplicity, CRP values were truncated at 60mg/L and ESR at 120mm/h.
