Interest meeting Key Club

Key club pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

What is key club? Key Club is a club dedicated to helping others and serving the community. We do many service projects in the year to serve those in need. It also helps build a sense of teamwork throughout the club and the community you’re serving.

Roles/board President- does paperwork, handles each event, coordinates DCMs with other presidents from other schools, works on hours. Vice President- overlooks anything that requires the head of each chair and helps the president, goes to IOC meetings. Secretary- makes pride reports each month, does the PowerPoints Treasurer- handles hours with president and overlooks our funds and anything related to money. Event Coordinator- works with the president and the secretary to plan events Web Designer- uploads the PowerPoints into the website and makes sure the website is up to date

Continuation DCON Chair- Works with the president to plan DCON
Fundraising Chair- Works with the Vice President to help the club fundraise Creative Chair- makes our posters and all of our designs Class directors- sends the s with our monthly newsletters to each member in their grade and the PowerPoints after each meeting, also signs in each member in their grade to each meeting

Goals Our goals this upcoming school year are to help our community more and to give the opportunity to each of our members to get a minimum of 250 hours. In addition to this, we want our club to become more active with both our own members and the members from other Key Clubs in our district.

DCMs Last year, we had the least amount of members at each DCM. This year, we want to have more representation at each DCM. A DCM is a divisional council meeting, where members from each Key Club in our division (24B) meet up once a month to talk about what we have done so far and what we plan to do. These events are a chance to build our relationships with other schools. So, please try to come this year. They are extremely fun events that you don’t want to miss.

dcon DCON is a 4 day event in Orlando on April 5th-8th where every Key Club in Florida meets up to go to different workshops that help you become a better leader, member, speaker, etc. You also go to parties to get to know the different members in your division and Zone (we are Zone J) We need to start fundraising because DCON can end up being very expensive if we don’t fundraise now.

Summary of Last year we managed to do a lot of service projects. We helped New Horizon Methodist Church throughout the months of September-December. We attended a few beach clean ups and many eco-active activities such as cleaning up a nature trail. We also did a few PB&J drives along with Jean Drives and Toys/Books Drive. In addition to this, we were awarded the most active club for the months of April and May by our District Governor. You can expect that we will do many of these events again this upcoming year, along with plenty of new events.
