2. Using a Timeline
Timeline- is a line marked off with a series of events and dates.
Displayed chronology-in the order the events occurred.
Timelines show a period- a length of time singled out because of a certain event that happened during that time. “era” or “epoch”
millennium, century, decade, year, month, days or hours

3. Organizing Time The past is split in 2 parts:
Prehistory- This is the time before humans invented writing.
History-refers to written history. Began about 5,200 years ago.
B.C. “before Christ” or B.C.E. “before common era”
A.D. meaning anno Domini, Latin for “in the year of our lord” or C.E “common era”
Calendars-what people use to keep track of time
Types
Jewish
Islamic
Mayan and Aztec
Gregorian days in one year-This is the one we follow

Last event is deathdate
Include 5 other events
Must be important event
Must have a 1-2 sentence explanation
