Latest news: Special mention certificates were awarded to: Yr 1 – Faye Yr 2 – Whole class Yr 3 – Freya and whole class Yr 4 – Brooklyn & Logan Yr 5 – Shaun Yr 6 – Whole class It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back to school this week, looking extremely smart in their school uniform and new black shoes. I’d like to thank all parents for supporting us, especially purchasing school shoes for their children. The new drop off and pick up arrangements are working well, and a number of parents have commented to me about how independently the children come into school now. Thank you to all those parents who have signed and returned the home/school agreement; we look forward to working in partnership with you throughout the school year. New course for parents at Tile Hill Library: The course title is “Maths and English Explained” and will help parents to understand how these subjects are taught to your children. It starts on 28th September and runs from 9.15am to 11.15am. Please see the back of the “What’s on sheet for more details. New dropping off and picking up arrangements: We have streamlined our arrangements for the start and end of the school day. Our Nursery and Reception arrangements have stayed the same, where children are being dropped off and picked up from their classroom door. The new arrangements are: Arriving at school: Year 1 and Year 2 to be dropped off at the double doors next to the Year 1 classroom. Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 enter school through the double doors into the school hall. Leaving school: Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are collected from the main playground. Names in uniform: Please remember to name all uniform so that it is easy for us all to return lost uniform to the right child. Dinner money increase: In line with other schools in our network, the cost of a school dinner increased to £2.20 per dinner from 5th September. The weekly amount is £11.

2 Limbrick News Diary dates: Tuesday 5th September – First day of Autumn term for pupils Thursday 14th – Monday 18th September – Year 6 residential trip to Dol y Moch Friday 20th October – Staff training day, pupils not in school Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October – Half term holiday Mobile phone numbers: Thank you for completing the emergency contact sheets, which will have given us your current phone numbers. If your number changes, the office needs to be informed straightaway so that your records can be updated. This then also updates the numbers used for Parentmail text messages so it is really important to keep us up to date. Reminder about no nuts or sesame seeds in lunch boxes: Thank you for ensuring that your child’s lunch box is free of any product that contains nuts or sesame seeds. This also includes products which have “may contain nuts due to the manufacturing process” in the allergens section of the product’s wrapper. Please ask any member of staff for further information. Attendance and Punctuality: Please ensure your children arrive at school on time. The bell goes at 8.55am. Children need to arrive at school between 8.45am and 8.55am, in order to undertake early morning work. Therefore we will continue to record poor punctuality. If children arrive after 8.55am, they will be recorded in the late book and their parents/carers will be asked to sign the late book and record the reason why.
