4 What we do…… In 2014/15: We completed over 1,300 courses and delivered approximately 16% WEA SFA contracted hours Our courses cover the four themes: Employability Health and wellbeing Community Engagement Culture Over 13,300 Enrolments in 2014/15

5 How we do it…… Strong partnerships 120 venues around the region
Targeted at the most excluded groups – learning and physical disabilities adults living in hostels or residential centres women and ethnic minorities those facing economic and social exclusion

6 Highlights over last year
Regional performance – over target on SFA (16%) Mandarin courses at Manchester Airport ALW & WEA Awards – more nominations, Health Education North West Award winner won national award HLF project – Field to Fabric / V&A Winners Talk English project – ESOL volunteers Member events – women’s empowerment Talk Shops – Housing, Immigration, Health Funding bids – HLF, SSW, RAS, ACL, Dementia European Citizenship courses – EU Referendum and EU study visit November 2016

7 Key regional priorities & challenges in 2016…..
Target low-paid, low skilled workers with limited access to further training Develop a 24/7 offer Promote equality and create ‘more just’ communities strengthen the WEA’s distinctiveness in education for social purpose and critical action learning Increase community engagement and activity so that the impact and value of WEA education is shared and understood by students, families, partners and communities Celebrate learning e.g. Festival of Art
