Progress Notes
--REMINDERS—
In order to get credit for completing the reading log, students must read for 100 minutes each week. Please initial where your child has written their title and record the minutes read in the planner. I am allowing one “oops” before changing students color to yellow for incomplete homework.
Reading- We are learning that in certain text, the author conveys a central message.
Math- Please see the “rounding song” on my website to help those struggling with rounding.
Writing- We are continuing to work through the writing process. Last week we made revisions to our summer stories
Language- We are using “vivid” verbs to replace boring verbs.
Social Studies- Understand the three branches of government.
FYI NIGHT
Thank you to those families who came out to FYI Night on Thursday. If you were not able to make it, your will receive the hand-outs with the progress note. Mrs. Royal did open the meeting with the Read to Achieve video from the Department of Public Instruction that explains the promotion and retention process for third graders at the end of the year. BEHAVIOR
Starting this week, I will be moving colors more frequently for disruptive behavior during instructional time. Students now have a solid understanding of expectations in my classroom and around the school building.
