Caliphate: an Islamic form of government Caliph: The leader of a Caliphate Timeline: a graphical representation of a period of time Descended from: coming from the same family, sharing the same ancestor. Ancestor: a person who is one more remote from the grandparent.

They ruled the Muslim world after the last Rashidum Caliph. 3.What is the capital city for the Umayyad Caliphate? Damascus. The Umayyads built buildings in Damascus such as the Great Umayyad Mosque that is still used today.
