1 First Grade Newsletter No Spelling Words This Week.
August 29, 2016 Teacher News & Notes Welcome to first grade! We are so excited to get to know your scholars this year! The newsletter is where you will always find what is going on for the week. Box Tops – Please start saving box tops! This is a great way to support our class! This Week: Phonics- Saxon Phonics Short O Math- Ways to make 10 Language Arts/Grammar- Rhyme and Alliteration, Reading words from left to right, Story: “Pam and Sam”, How do writers tell their story? Science- Investigating properties and patterns in weather Social Studies- Back to School: Rules If you have not already, please join PTO! It is a great way to support our school and classroom. No Spelling Words This Week. Please make sure your child reads our daily story every week. They will be given a comprehension test over the story on Fridays. We are starting a new program called Saxon Phonics. It is not requiring us to do spelling test this week so students will not have spelling words sent home yet. Thanks for your support in your child’s educational journey! #riseuptoexcellence Calendar (Please always read the Justiss website. We do not list all of the calendar events for the school.) 9/5-Labor Day Holiday (No School) Please turn in all paperwork as soon as possible. All of these forms are needed in case of an emergency, permission for field trips, and other activities that take place at school.
