3. Post-it Note Activity
In a small group, select one unit from your Our World Student Book.
Look through the unit together and analyze it for two or three best practices of TEYL.
Use Post-it notes to mark each activity.
Application 1
For this application activity, you are going to work in small groups with your Our World Student Books.  
Distribute Post-­it notes to each group. 
Have participants follow the directions on the screen. When they are finished, have one or two share the activities they chose and explain how they illustrate best practices.

With a partner, design an activity for young learners that applies all five tips from this video:
Enjoyable and interesting
Active and hands-on
Supportive and scaffolded
Meaningful and purposeful
Connected to the real world

For the application activity, you are going to work with a partner to design an activity that incorporates all five elements of effective teaching to young learners.
Tell participants that they can start with an activity they have used before and enhance it to apply all five recommendations from the video.
Time permitting, have participants demonstrate their activity and explain how each tip is incorporated.
If you have poster paper, have participants use it for their presentation.

Reflection
Have participants reflect on the workshop and write down the answers to this 1-­‐2-­‐3 activity. Have two or three participants share their answers for each.
