2. Different culture What is culture?
Culture is a word for people's 'way of life', meaning the way they do things. Different groups of people may have different cultures. A culture is passed on to the next generation by learning. Culture is seen in people's writing, religion, music, clothes, cooking, and in what they do. Different countries have different cultures. For example, some older Japanese people wear kimonos, arrange flowers in vases, and have tea ceremonies.

We are going to watch how people celebrate Christmas in three different countries. Compare the celebrations. Say what do you like and what do you dislike.
