1 Classroom Guidelines & Procedures
5th Grade

2 All procedures in school handbook will be followed.
DC Guideline’s Be Responsible Be Respectful Be Safe Be a Learner All procedures in school handbook will be followed. We will talk more about these on Thursday in Mrs. Uebelherr’s class

3 What do these mean? In Mrs. Uebelherr’s room you will take the time to discuss what these mean!

4 Technology Expectations
Allowed on Campus Phones – Must be off and in your backpack at all times on school property – unless being for instruction in the classroom NO SOCIAL MEDIA or PICTURES eReaders / Kindles – Can be used for reading only. Teachers and school staff are NOT responsible for devices that are lost, stolen, or damaged. If electronics are used inappropriately they will be confiscated immediately and must be picked up by a parent / guardian in the office.

5 Morning Procedures Line up at homeroom against the wall and be seated
Please keep an appropriate volume level Instruction starts at 8:45 AM. It is your responsibility to be on time and come into your classrooms quietly Breakfast must be finished prior to 8:45 in the cafeteria

6 Playground Expectations
Tackle football and tag are not allowed Only touch football on the field Stay off gravel areas There are two sets of play equipment – K-5 and 6-8 No toys in school – Sports equipment brought from home is your responsibility Line up as soon as you hear the whistle blow

7 Classroom Expectations
Please bring water only No gum or candy Transitions – we will act as role models (wait politely for people who walk by) Desks will be shared with other students. Please bring everything with you to each class Students will be expected to find out what they missed if absent Class Websites -

8 Lunch Expectations Lunches stay in your backpack until lunch
Left Door Right Door Bringers Buyers After you eat, empty lunchbox goes into HOMEROOM teacher’s tub and is picked up at the end of the hall You must WALK to the cafeteria or you forfeit recess No snacking in the classroom

9 Recess Expectations Recess – be aware of the monitor blowing the grade level whistle If you are late to class you will fill out a think sheet- NO EXCUSES – if you cannot hear the whistle on the field, stay somewhere you can hear it We line up at the end of the fairness hallway

10 Bathroom Expectations
All students will quietly go if they cannot wait until between classes/lunch/after school Sign out by the door if you leave the room for any reason One boy or girl at a time Available during independent activities Bring a hall pass Be quick & be a role model We will compare sign-outs

11 Infractions Verbal Warning Think Sheet Detention Referral
This is not a step system! The severity of the infraction will determine the consequence.

12 Agenda You are required to use your agenda for all classes daily
Why is using your agenda important? What else besides homework will you write in your agenda?

13 Be a Learner! Nobody has the right to interfere with my ability to teach or a student’s ability to learn.
