1. Applying to College
*Create a list of colleges- include admission and FAFSA deadlines and required documents.
*Understand the difference between Early Action, Early Decision, and Priority Admissions.
*Complete applications through the college websites. Make sure it’s well before the deadline.
*Indicate in Naviance that you applied.
*Invite teachers to upload their recommendations.
*After applying, check your on a regular basis.

2. Adding Colleges to Your Naviance Account
Students MUST create a list of colleges they are applying to and indicate they have applied in Naviance.
*Log into Naviance

3. *Click on the “Colleges” tab

4. *Click on “Colleges I’m applying to”

5. If applying to Common App schools, follow the directions to below to link your Naviance account with Common App. This must be done in order for guidance to send supporting documents.
If applying directly to an institution, add them by clicking “Add to this list”.

6. Letters of Recommendation
*Students must ask the teacher in person to write a letter of recommendation. Provide the teacher with the “Letter of Recommendation” form. (Found on the Welcome Page of Naviance on the right under “Documents”.)
*Provide your counselor a copy of the form if you would like a recommendation from them. Many colleges require a counselor recommendation.
*After asking the teacher in person, invite the teacher to upload their recommendation to Naviance.

8. Click “Add request”. Then select the teacher from the drop down list and follow the instructions to complete the request.
