5 ○ “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12) ○ “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10) ○ Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” (Colossians 3:23) ○ School is work. It is harder for some than for others, but it is possible to thrive in school and not just survive. It takes time, effort, patience, and most of all, a focus on serving the Lord through our work. Biblical Worldview

6 Purpose of Study Skills
Purpose: Provide learning opportunities in which students can identify their God given learning styles and understand strategies that will enhance their learning strengths and support their learning weaknesses as they strive to glorify God in their work. Purpose of Study Skills

7 Goals and Expectations
Become knowledgeable about personal accommodations and advocate for themselves through appropriate interactions with teachers. Create and maintain a manageable organizational system for materials Monitor academic support tools daily such as Power School/Haiku, teacher s, homework boards, etc. The Study Skills class and teacher do not have all of the assignments that are given to students. Teachers often give a task in class without Mrs. Barnett or the parents knowing about the assignment. It is ultimately the student’s responsibility to be aware of all assignments.
