8 Nature of sin Enticing (James 1:12-15)
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full- grown, brings forth death.

9 Nature of sin Deceptive (Hebrews 3:13)
but exhort one another daily, while it is called " Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

10 Nature of sin Enslaves (John 8:34)
Jesus answered them, " Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

11 Nature of sin Is of the Devil (1 John 3:8)
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

12 Nature of sin Enjoyable for a season (Hebrews 11:25)
choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,

13 Nature of sin 1. Enticing (James 1:12-16) 2. Deceptive (Hebrews 3:13) 3. Enslaves (John 8:34) 4. Is of the Devil (1 John 3:8) 5. Enjoyable for a season (Hebrews 11:25)

14 All must cover their sin
Receive forgiveness for sins Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Psalm 32:1

15 All must cover their sin
Receive forgiveness for sins " Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Romans 4:7

16 All must cover their sin
Wrong way to cover sin Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." Genesis 3:12

17 All must cover their sin
Wrong way to cover sin But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel.2 Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, "Go up and spy out the country." So the men went up and spied out Ai.

18 All must cover their sin
Wrong way to cover sin 3 And they returned to Joshua and said to him, "Do not let all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai. Do not weary all the people there, for the people of Ai are few." 4 So about three thousand men went up there from the people, but they fled before the men of Ai. 5 And the men of Ai struck down about thirty- six men, for they chased them from before the gate as far as Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent; therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water. Joshua 7:1-5

19 All must cover their sin
Wrong way to cover sin While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." Acts 5:4

20 All must cover their sin
Right way to cover sins Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah Psalm 85:1-2

21 All must cover their sin
Right way to cover sins For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16

22 All must cover their sin
Right way to cover sins And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 1 John 3:5-6
