2 ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANIZATION
The IEC is based on the real needs of an in-depth and intensive cooperation between the industry and technical-educational sphere Independent organizational unit – the IEC is a part of School Centre Škofja Loka and includes two areas of work: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (under construction) WOOD ENGINEERING (construction – a future objective) Directions of the IEC development are strongly supported by the following documents: 1. Developmental strategy of Slovenia 2. The regional development program of Gorenjska 2007 – 2013 3. Operational program of strengthening regional developmental potentials for the period

3 OBJECTIVES OF THE IEC ŠKOFJA LOKA
To prepare and implement functional and educational programs together with social partners (experts from industry and education). To improve, in cooperation with experts from companies, the quality of educational system and training with the most advanced equipment and with new educational ways in the school centre and at the department for adult education, which is already implemented in the IEC. To improve the quality of educational system and training and through new educational programs qualify the candidates for higher flexibility on the job market. To develop educational technology and didactic expedients and prototype products for industry, trade and other institutions.

4 PRESENT ACTIVITIES: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (under construction): The documents needed for building a new structure total net surface of 2.236,60 m2 or 2.337,72 m2 gross respectively. - GROUND FLOOR: workshops and labs with auxiliary rooms (toilets, changing rooms …) Net surface: ,20 m2 - FIRST FLOOR: labs and classrooms with auxiliary rooms (toilets, changing rooms …) Net surface: ,80m2 - SECOND FLOOR / ATTIC: gas boiler room, engine room for air conditioning, service room / maintenance room) Net surface: 154,57 m2

MOVING INTO THE BUILDING IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW PROGRAMS ACCORDING TO THE YEARLY PLAN BEGINNING OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS WITH A CONTINUOUS COOPERATION WITH OUR PARTNERS

9 HOW WE ACHIEVE OBJECTIVES – EXAMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICE an example from the field of automation
Purchase of suitable technological equipment (industrial components – SMC company) A lecturer or an expert from a company comes to school to present theoretically and practically the possibilities and functioning of the equipment at the time when the subject-matter is dealt with in a classroom. The equipment includes modern / intuitive computer program for a programmable controller Cypro, which is at the same time also used in industry (e.g. educating maintenance personnel for automation processes …) Students visit the company ( the producer or representative of technological equipment) Students do project work Students visit and prepare a report on a certain company, which uses the same equipment in the automation of its technological processes (ŠIBO, DOMEL)
