2 CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Bench mark in Business PROJECT GUIDELINES AID FOR TRADE –Programme of development co-operation implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and financed by the state budget of the Czech Republic –Implementing body is the CZECH REPUBLIC DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION –Recent focus on EU potential candidate countries, developing countries (South-East Asia, Africa, etc.) –Targeted at support of trade relations with the country in question by proposing such initiatives that follow the objective of developing instruments for improvement of conditions in bilateral trade exchange and creating new opportunities for business community from both countries –Using existing relationships and networks  chambers of commerce, confederations of industry, business development agencies, etc. –Key method = identification of a reliable local partner („helping them help themselves“) 2

3 CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Bench mark in Business PROJECT GUIDELINES PROGRAMME AID FOR TRADE – SUPPORT OF TRADE DEVELOPMENT IN SERBIA –Reflects the priorities of the Czech Republic‘s development aid and also the priority of the target country –Thematically follows the project Partners for Investment Promotion (WB) and previous project Economic and Social Development of the Area, Building Up of the Network of Centres for Creation and Management of Development Projects in the Republic of Serbia –Subject to public procurement procedure (public tender) –Timeline: 4 months (incl. reimbursement and final report) JUL-NOV 2012 –Partner in charge of project management: CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE –Partner in charge of project implementation in the Republic of Serbia: CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF SERBIA in co-operation with local partners (Regional Chamber of Leskovac, Ministry of Domestic and International Trade and Telecomm.) 3

5 CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Bench mark in Business PROJECT ACTIVITIES STUDY VISIT PRAGUE –first project activity –main objectives are to: clarify details of project implementation, organization of project activities discuss best practices in the field of project management in order to strengthen the position of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in mediating funding opportunities for Serbian business community Finding new opportunities for bilateral relationship between the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in order to support bilateral co-operation of Czech and Serbian companies –time frame: 17-20 September 2012 –participants: 3 Project Managers, 3 representatives of the Ministry of Domestic and International Trade and Telecommunications –Establishing relationship among the members of the team 5

6 CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Bench mark in Business PROJECT ACTIVITIES SEMINAR BELGRADE –second project activity –main objectives are: Introduction of European Commission‘s programmes (terminology, websites, etc.) SME internationalization, implementation of projects (drafting, preparation, submission, co- ordination, budget, controlling, etc.) Liaison with chamber members in order to attend to their needs in a more efficient way –time frame: 2-5 October 2012 –participants: experts and other speakers determined by the CCI Serbia, chamber staff, companies, etc. –the secondary objective is to speed up the process of Serbia‘s accession to the EU by helping the key persons understand the priority issues of EU support –more considerable involvement of Serbian companies in EU support programmes will also be encouraged 6

7 CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Bench mark in Business PROJECT ACTIVITIES SEMINAR LESKOVAC –third project activity –main objectives are: Introduction of European Commission‘s programmes (terminology, websites, etc.) Internationalization of SMEs (with focus on regional aspects), implementation of projects (drafting, preparation, submission, co-ordination, budget, controlling, etc.) Liaison with chamber members in order to handle their needs in a more efficient way –time frame: 30 October – 1 November 2012 (to be confirmed) –participants: experts and other speakers determined by the CCI Serbia, chamber staff, companies, etc. –the secondary objective is to speed up the process of Serbia‘s accession to the EU by helping the key persons understand the priority issues of EU support –more considerable involvement of Serbian companies in EU support programmes will also be encouraged 7
