2. Important info
A geocache is an outdoor recreational activity, in which people use a Global Positioning System (GPS) device e.g. mobile phones to hide and find containers, called ‘geocaches’ anywhere in the world. Geocaching shares many ideas with orienteering and treasure-hunting.

5. Activity 2: Create your own geocache
Task
In pairs you will be creating your own geocache in the school and grounds for others in your class to find.
Step 1
Using either the coloured map of the whole school and grounds OR the detailed floor-by-floor map of the school, decide where you are going to hide your geocache.

7. Activity 2: Create your own geocache
Task
In pairs you will be creating your own geocache in the school and grounds for others in your class to find.
Step 1
Using either the coloured map of the whole school and grounds OR the detailed floor-by-floor map of the school, decide where you are going to hide your geocache.
Step 2
Go to your chosen location with your map and worksheet and write down the exact 6-figure grid reference on your worksheet in column 3.

For your own geocache complete Worksheet 2, column 1 with the clues only, ready to give the worksheet to another pair.
Step 2
Now randomly hand out completed Worksheet 2 to every pair to go and find the geocache and bring it back to class.
