Most words are pronounced correctly. One or two words may be repetitively pronounced incorrectly. Some words pronounced correctly at times and at other times not. Inconsistent, but understood. Many words are pronounced incorrectly, but there is consistency in the pronunciation. There is no consistency in the pronunciation. Most words are improperly spoken. Student will replace gaps in his or her speech with English words when he or she cannot pronounce them. Has to explain himself or herself often. Vocabulary Uses a variety of vocabulary and expressions with different contexts. Uses a variety of vocabulary and expressions with different contexts may pronounce a word to have a different meaning. Uses a variety of vocabulary but the vocabulary is limited to certain themes or topics. Uses basic vocabulary and expressions, but at times uses words in incorrect contexts. Cannot use proper sentence structure or create a complete thought in the target languages, uses only one word sentences or cannot answer the question.
