1. 2006 Structure Fires Caused by Fireworks
In 2006, the State Fire Marshal received reports of 24 structure fires caused by fireworks. The dollar loss for these fires totaled $510, There was one civilian injury and one firefighter injury involved with these blazes.

2. Breakdown of Structure Fires
The holidays provide the greatest number of structure fires with the heat source being fireworks.
New Years Eve Holiday = 7 structure fires
Fourth of July Holiday = 11 structure fires

3. Breakdown of Vehicle & Outside Fires
During 2006, there were five vehicle fires involving fireworks, with two of these incidents occurring around the Fourth of July holiday. The total dollar loss was $2,
There were also 216 outside fires started by fireworks with a total dollar loss of $4, of these fires occurred around the New Year’s Eve and Fourth of July holidays.
