3 Learning objectives To be able to understand what ‘Change your T-shirt’ is about. To understand the difference between being a victim of an act and choosing to act like a victim. To understand that most of the time we can change our Response to create a better Outcome. Lesson outcomes Students will be able to provide an example scenario where they needed to change their T-shirt. Students will be able to identify one way they could have made a change. Students can identify both positive and negative responses to a given situation. Next

4 ‘Bad things always happen to me’
Understand : Activity 1 ‘Bad things always happen to me’ Think of a time when you have said or heard this said by someone. Discuss the statement; is it true, are there bad things, where would it fit in the equation? On your sheets write an example of an Event where you felt everything was going wrong but looking back it wasn’t really that bad. How did it make you feel? More importantly how did they Respond? Now ask them to think of a positive way they could have reacted to the situation. What would they have felt like? What would have been the Outcome Next

5 So we will call it the ‘Woe is me T shirt’ or WIM-T
Understand : Activity 2 Look at the pictures can you identify what physical signs you think can show a person has on their WIM-T? This is about the visual not the verbal. Then use this to complete their work sheet identifying on the figure the physical signs that show a person has on their WIM-T. Sometimes people can really go overboard about how everyone including the universe, is out to get them. Some might say they are ‘Playing the martyr’ or ‘Wearing their victim T Shirt’ Now we know that a real victim is one who may have been involved in a crime, accident, disaster, etc. So we will call it the ‘Woe is me T shirt’ or WIM-T Next
