2 Industry Overview India's travel and tourism sector ranks 7th in the world in terms of its total contribution to the country's GDP, the sum is equivalent to 9.6%.  Travel and tourism sector generated Rs 14.1 trillion Revenue in 2016 Additionally, the sector created 40.3 million jobs in 2016, which ranks India 2nd in the world in terms of total employment generated. The sector accounts for 9.3% of the country's total jobs.  Domestic Tourism contributes 88% to the Revenues 9 million international arrivals in 2016, placing it at 40th place in the world  Restaurants are the largest growth area and will account for 78% of total people employed by Hotels are aspirational and will employ 17% of the workforce. Additionally, Facilities Management is going to be one of the largest employer with requirement of over 10 million jobs
