3 Appointment Agreements/Contracts
Appointment Agreements are issued following Committee approval of appointment – you should by now have been sent an Appointment Agreement If you have not yet signed and returned your Appointment Agreement, please do so ASAP For any change of Circumstance (eg address, Institution etc) please complete a Change of Circumstance form, as some changes may have contractual implications

4 Fee Claims for Annual Report
Your External Examining fee will have been stated in your Appointment Agreement The annual fee is payable upon receipt of your Annual Report. You will need to complete, sign and return a New Starter Form on Appointment to establish a Payroll record Thereafter, you will not need to complete any further fee claim forms, but rather payment will be triggered on receipt of your report.

5 Expense Claims Journeys by car of 100 miles or more will need prior approval through Secretariat Subsistence allowance rates are stated on the reverse of the Expense Claim Form All claims must be accompanied by receipts

6 ANNUAL REPORTING PROCESS
You are required by the terms of your Appointment Agreement to submit an annual report. Annual reporting must be completed on-line The on-line report is required within one month of the Board of Examiners Meeting By 31 July 2017 for Undergraduate Provision By 31 December 2017 for Taught Postgraduate Provision

7 Completing Your Annual Report
We will send you an to let you know that your reporting template is ready for completion. You will also receive an automated notification from APMS. Please refer to pages 3-16 of The External Examiner Annual Report Guidance Notes for Step by Step Guidance on how to complete your Annual Report on-line Off-site On-site

8 Do’s and Don’ts in Reporting
DO provide clear and comprehensive feedback to prevent report being returned with a request for more detail. DON’T name or identify individuals. DON’T refer in detail to issues that have not previously been raised with the School direct

9 What Happens To Your Report
Read and confirmed as fit for purpose by the Office of Quality, Standards and Partnerships Personally read and reviewed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Development Distributed to colleagues within the School Comments reflected in School Annual Monitoring Report Academic Affairs Committee considers issues raised
