Run by US Soccer and MYSA Focuses on pool rather than team training Allows player movement freely to promote challenge or comfort Strives to create a training environment that is conducive to each player Allows player movement between groups

14 Why do we need the Academy ?
It supports our desire to build larger groups of players Focus on player and not team development at the right age Allows a wider soccer connection with more players Player connection Coaching Training Creates the right soccer environment

16 Evaluating team success Leadership
Does your team have a link above and below Are the players on your team connected or do they separate and not mix in How welcoming are they to new players coming in to train Do your players train hard?- lead by example Do any of your players drive others? -Lead others Do any of your player train with the teams at the lower level also – Cross-Cultural Leadership

17 Evaluating team success Desire to develop
Do your players train with intensity and competitiveness Do they start training when they get their – self motivated Are they self aware of where they are on the team? Do they keep score in all practice competitions? Do they train with any player or only specific ones

18 Evaluating team success Team
Does your team display comfort in possession of the ball Do they pass the ball in all directions Are they comfortable enough to build up play or do they play direct Do they play out and around the back line with confidence Do they get back players into attack Do they transition and win the ball back quickly?

19 Creating a club culture
The way our teams look to play What we class as success Coaching Style The way our teams warm up The way our Goalkeepers warm up The Conduct of our members Over the years we have slowly added pieces that are unique to our club- This year we will put them all together with one addition

20 Warm ups Fifa ll plus clips Fifa 11plus information
Why we are doing this

21 Game day schedule 1st contact with the players
The game day process is 45 minutes prior to the game 1st contact with the players 0-5 minutes – Meet the coach and the coach reviews the game, the objectives and the formation 5-10 minutes – Check in with the referee 5-30 minutes – The players do the 11 plus warm up 30-40 minutes The team breaks up into an activity based on age _ goalkeeper does a separate warm up U9/10 passing in pairs or dribbling with a move U11+ possession or multiple goal games 40-45 minutes coach reviews starting line up based on player readiness and talks individually and briefly

22 Game Expectations I Expect all teams to go through this check list when we are wining to create positive game habits in preparation for the next game What we practice makes permanent and not perfect, so how we win and lose is just as important as how we practice and play We must win games because we are the better team and not just because we have more effective players At CC United for the development of the players in our community every game presents us with an opportunity to Work on the quality of our defending if our opponent is stronger than us Work on our attacking if we are stronger than our opponent Games will be considered lost if, as a team we either quit when we were down or simply kept on scoring U9/10 Can we play 3 touch Each time the ball goes out of bounds we must find the keeper Forward stays in opponents half and we must pass in before we go in U11 plus Can we play 2 touch The fullbacks must overlap the outside midfielder each time they get the ball The forwards play 1 touch 3 touch in your half and one touch in the opposing half Both wide midfielders have to touch the ball in the opposing half

23 Coach Expectations Game To allow the players to play the game
To evaluate performance of training at all games To do more player education on the sidelines To use the goals and objectives to determine success To use specific and limited moments to coach players on the field that allows the players to lead the game If the score runs the risk of being high to use game conditions to prepare the team for higher level teams To sit and Enjoy watching what you team has achieved

24 Coach Expectations on conduct
Never question a referee in a negative manner.  All referee conversations should happen during play breaks and in a civil manner. Never engage with a parent verbally or physically Never allow get into a verbal or physical altercation with opposing coach Always treat players with respect Act as a teacher not a dictator- ask the referee

25 Winter Training Until the end of February all technical Individual
High repetition Simple 3 phase max progressions finishing with conditioned game Pressure adaptation based on success Reduce areas 1st and then increase pressure Coaches exercises coming week to week Feb- May Zonal attack/defend Functional

29 Competitive Goals and Objectives Age U9
Team Player Age Group Summary U9 Team Shape introduction An introduction to risk taking Develop a more competitive approach to practice Develop a comfort passing in all directions Develop basic passing technique Develop comfort on the ball Establish a pool of players in A B or C At U9/10 it is vital that we are successful playing a certain way and that we don’t succumb to result searching. Our formation restricts us from being direct and forces us to play through the team It is vital that when we are the dominant team that we have condition our game to develop, rather than get more goals. These conditions say don’t score but require individuals to think more and the team to work. This gets us ready for the next level At U9 we are usually not so competitive as our players are intimidated by coaches who yell. Our coaches will not yell and at the expense of a goal or a win they will encourage our players to make mistakes and train them to take risks. This will both increase individual player development, the teams ability to create chances and reduce chances for the opponents making us stronger U10 Introduction to combination play Formation Mastery Introduction to formation Continuous risk taking Awareness of top team goals Improve technical speed of play Develop technique and basic tactics Develop individual defending ability Reassess the pool Establish a pool of players in A B or C Most important age group in the club U11 Introduction of playing out of the back- connecting a zone Establish multiple ways to attack Learning to zonal Defend Introduce the overlap Improve long passing Positional awareness Recognition of changing the point of attack Establish 1-2Top teams -20 players- and equally divided 2nd teams Utilize new field size Introduction to league structure Introduction to Rules of the game Awareness of offside and direct kicks New Field Size At U11 we define who we are and how we play. As league structure comes in we decide where to place teams based on their ability to achieve goals and objectives and not game results. We will look to form 1-2 C2 teams and 1-2 C3 teams At U11 we need a parent and coach re-Check for competitiveness, At this age we are usually strong but it is vital that we go through our goals and objectives in preparation for the following year when we compete against stronger and often recruited competition At U11 our league standings summer to summer will carry through all ages

30 Team Player Age Group Summary
Competitive Goals and Objectives Team Player Age Group Summary U12 Introduction to 3rd player movement Opposition recognition Setting an offside trap Re affirm U11 habits with speed Comfort in changing fields Improved recognition in which line to change fields with Advanced movement patterns Evaluate top teams Club Goals of all levels of play achieved Maintain competitive teams at all classic levels Start to form team based on drive At U12 we should have 2-3 teams that understand the clubs way of playing and 1-2 teams that are at the U11 the starting point. We should strive to play our way out of trouble and create scoring chances rather than force In being the dominant team at U12 as we need to prepare for U13 and 11v11 we should look to out play rather than outrun or out muscle our opponents and achieve the following High amount of possession of the ball Multiple ways to attack U13 Zonal Defending as an 11v11 team Create multiple ways to attack Work as pistons in defense Get used to playing with 2 central players Awareness of playing on a bigger field Understanding of speed of play Establish teams The Real Game Utilize field size MYSA holds teams to promotion and relegation Maintain Classic teams U13/14 is a challenging age in that some clubs have self selected and recruited to play at this level in preparation for Premier. CC United (through our playing habits) look to be strong enough to compete, but are looking at U14 and 15 to be strong We are striving and getting closer to Premier each year with community kids U14 Recognizing opponents strength to channel Recognize opponents weakness Develop a 2nd system of play Improved technical speed of play Comfortable receiving and distributing in the air Get comfortable with a role in the team Evaluating where we are? Look to maintain all levels of play Build to be strong At U14 Premier kicks in and leagues become balanced. This is where CC United shows our age groups achievements in how close we are to competitiveness at all the classic levels. At this age using the framework of the last few years we look to be strong at all levels of play
