4 Upload Wizard Import Data from Excel Worksheets for Use with WebFOCUS
The Upload Wizard enables easy creation of a WebFOCUS file description and corresponding data file for use in any WebFOCUS reporting application. The Upload Data File option is available from all areas of WebFOCUS. File types supported: Excel Workbooks. Upload data and create synonyms for multiple worksheets and named ranges within a workbook. Delimited flat files. Including txt, csv, ftm, dat, and tmp. Upload process creates: A copy of XLSX workbook on reporting server. A standard WebFOCUS synonym. All data types are supported. Integrates with the WebFOCUS Release 8 security system and new repository infrastructure and controls access by user profiles.

5 WebFOCUS Samples Generator
Import Excel Data Into Suite of Sample Content Transform your data uploaded from XLSX workbooks into a suite of sample charts, reports, documents and dashboards. Quickly evaluate the contents of new data and elements important to your business. Customize sample dashboards and components to meet specific business needs, rather than starting from scratch. Show new users available reporting options and the ease at which they can be generated and customized. ***New Webfocus Feature BUE & ***

6 Quick Data Consumer & Producer
The perfect tool for the contingent of die-hard Excel users in every organization, the power users who take advantage of the number crunching and manipulation tools a spreadsheet offers. Extract data from any of your WebFOCUS data sources into Excel workbooks. Feed and refresh data in workbooks of pivot tables and charts. Consolidate data across different data sources into a single workbook. Update data in macro-enabled workbooks supporting different analytic paths or processes. Integrates with the WebFOCUS Release 8 security system and new repository infrastructure. Access to metadata for ad hoc reporting is retrieved based on configuration of Content/MR folders and user authorization. Structured ad hoc forms are now stored in any Content folder that is available to the user.

10 WebFOCUS and Microsoft Office Support Statement
Use WebFOCUS to generate Excel (XLSX) and PowerPoint (PPTX) reports that can be opened, viewed, and edited in any Office release. Due to security policy changes implemented in Microsoft Office 2013, the Excel® and PowerPoint® formats generated by WebFOCUS (EXL2K and PPT) will no longer be supported. These formats are not supported by Microsoft Excel Viewer and PowerPoint Viewer in any Office release. The WebFOCUS DOC format generates a character-based file, not a Microsoft Word document. Acrobat® PDF format is the standard for WebFOCUS display and print documents.

11 Drilldowns from Office Applications
WebFOCUS Security Considerations WebFOCUS drilldowns support the execution of parameter-driven procedures that return information to the client based on user selection within a report. For Office reports, it’s a matter of security: With the enhanced WebFOCUS Repository security features, user requests require credentials. When a report is opened these credentials are maintained in the browser and NOT passed to the Office application. Without these credentials, the drilldown request can not get back into WebFOCUS to execute.

12 Options to Support Intra-Application Drilldowns
The Remember Me security model User authentication that allows WebFOCUS to store a trusted sign-in cookie locally, on the workstation, for a default period of 14 days. Public Access (Anonymous User) Useful for procedures that can be made available to everyone within an organization, or the general public, so they require no authentication. Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) Refer to the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.
