Careers in Engineering and Manufacturing
Jack and Jerry

Aerospace Aerospace engineers create extraordinary machines, from airplanes that weigh over a half a million pounds to spacecraft that travel over 17,000 miles an hour. They design, develop, and test aircraft, spacecraft, and missiles and supervise the manufacture of these products.

Biomedical Biomedical engineers combine biology, medicine, and engineering and use advanced knowledge of engineering and science to solve medical and health-related problems. Biomedical engineers design massive MRI machines along with the microscopic machines used in surgery.

Chemical and Biomolecular
Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is a discipline whose study prepares students for an enormously varied set of career paths. Graduates have become corporate executives, plant engineers, professors, inventors, lawyers, researchers, bankers, money managers, physicians, consultants, financial officers, and sales engineers. They have found employment with oil, chemical, biomedical, pharmaceutical, microelectronics, environmental, pulp and paper, food, textile, fertilizer, fragrance, and automobile companies

Civil Civil engineers design things. These might be roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, or water supply and sewage systems. They must consider many factors in their designs, from the costs to making sure the structure will stay intact during bad weather. This is one of the oldest types of engineering.

Computer If you major in Computer Engineering, you'll learn all about the hardware and software aspects of computer science. You'll gain a solid understanding of circuit theory and electronic circuits, too.

Electrical the branch of engineering science that studies the uses of electricity and the equipment for power generation and distribution and the control of machines and communication

Enviromental Environmental engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to improve the environment (air, water, and/or land resources), to provide healthy water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to remediate polluted sites

Industrial and Systems
The branch of engineering that deals with the creation and management of systems that integrate people and materials and energy in productive ways.

Material Sciences Materials science or materials engineering is an interdisciplinary field involving the properties of matter and its applications to various areas of science and engineering.

Mechanical The branch of engineering that deals with the design and construction and operation of machinery.

Nuclear The branch of engineering concerned with the design and construction and operation of nuclear reactors.
