2 Curriculum – topic overview
Daily Maths, English & Guided Reading Topics linked to English writing and providing context for Maths. Termly Trips / ‘Roman Day’ Autumn 1 to be finalised.

3 Growth Mind-set Growth Mind-set approach and attitude to learning to be encouraged at home.

4 Mindfulness Focusing attention, dealing with emotions (stress & worry).

5 Homework “Quality over Quantity” Keeping you informed

6 Homework Children will be given a week to complete each homework. They can however be handed in at any time. Monday: Topic-based homework (History, Art, Science etc.) Tuesday: Maths worksheet or ‘Mymaths’ Thursday: Bug Club (set band for half-term) Friday: *NEW* Writing Homework Apologies that homework diaries have not yet arrived.

7 Bug Club Setting a book band for each child. They can choose which book they want to read within the band. One a week!

8 Reading Reading 15-20 mins everyday.
Take home books/school library/home-books/ library Child's Choice Enjoy! Reading with an adult. Keep questioning…but leave comprehension to Guided Reading. Apologies that homework diaries have not yet arrived.
