5 PETRISSAGE This group includes:
Kneading – single or double handed using the palm of the hand(s). Picking up – lifting the tissue and squeezing with forefinger and thumb. 6 TAPOTEMENT This group includes: Hacking Cupping Beating Pounding

7 FRICTIONS Small movements over localised area using pads of the fingers or thumbs. Again write this technique in your own words Where do you think this methods can be used? In small groups transfer what you have learnt on to the flipchart paper for use in your practical sessions.

8 VIBRATIONS Supporting the muscle with one hand and vibrating the other hand from side to side. This method not very often used. It finishes a massage off or is used to release tension prior to the start.

9 SEQUENCE AND TIMMING Full body = ???? Each front leg = 6mins
Chest = 4 mins Stomach = 4 mins Back = 15 mins Each back leg = 6 mins
