As a Christian I can relate to both Symbolic Interactionism as well as Rational Choice Theory.

Self Reflection Through Sociological Theories. Symbolic Interactionism: A school of thoughts in sociology that explains behaviours in how people interact with one another through language, communication and symbols which provides the means by which reality is constructed. An ideal example is social media’s influence in our society. This theory uses data from a qualitative method of research on a micro level.

Self Reflection through Sociological Theories Rational Choice Theory: A concept of choosing actions that best satisfies one’s desires such as Christianity. Then adopting the beliefs that are best justified by the available evidence, while investing in resources to acquire such ideals. This theory uses qualitative research methodology such as: interviews, focus groups and artistic depictions in a micro level scale.
