1 NMC Revalidation What’s in a Portfolio?

2 You Only Need One Portfolio
Aim The aim of this session is to give an overview of what you need in your portfolio in order to meet revalidation. You Only Need One Portfolio It is important to emphasise here that being familiar with the Code will be a very important part of revalidation as all registrants will need to continually refer, and relate ongoing work to the Code when looking at feedback and doing their reflections on practice. It is also likely that other strands of work will be cross referenced to the 4 pillars of the Code and interviews may well be structured around the same.

3 Resources Needed Vinny Ness

4 Revalidation is for all registrants on the NMC Register
To recap: Given some Nurses and Midwives will need to have sufficient evidence by April 2016 in order to Revalidate you have to start now Each registrant must demonstrate how they meet the requirements of re-registration and have their evidence confirmed. The easiest way to present the evidence for Revalidation is by maintaining a Portfolio – this can be in a paper or electronic format.

5 A mock portfolio The mock portfolio is divided into sections – although how you present your portfolio is individual choice Templates produced by the NMC are on their website and MUST be used where they are provided
