2 Link (v. tr. ) 1. To connect with a link. (v. intr. ) 1
Link (v. tr.) 1. To connect with a link. (v. intr.) 1. To connect by association. 2. To follow a hypertext link. Urbanites are always on the move in their fast-paced, high-energy environments. Colors are fresh, often surprising. Humans continue to design machines, tools, and methods that link people and places together at ever-increasing speeds. We move from place to place in minutes thanks to high-speed transportation. Ideas and data move from point to point in nanoseconds. As we create links, we create community and new ways of looking at our world.

4 Network (v. tr.) 1. To cover with or as if with an openwork fabric or structure. 2. To connect (computers) into a network. (v. intr.) 1. To interact or engage in informal communication with others for mutual assistance or support. Intense shades reflect a quiet, powerful infrastructure moving data and information that connect us. Understanding networking behavior provides insight into who are the idea starters, the amplifiers, and the adapters in moving information and creating trends. As social networks grow larger and noisier, new niche networks appear. Issue networks form around subject areas, linking what is said online to influence decision-making.

6 Touch (v. tr.) 1. To put a hand or finger on or into contact with, to feel. (v. intr.) 2. To come into contact with and perceive. 3. To affect with some feeling or emotion. 4. To tinge or color slightly. Quiet, comforting shades remind us of the importance of our personal connections— through direct touch and also through our devices. Touch connects us with our world and lets us experience and directly engage with our surroundings. Touch can remind us to slow down, to look at the world around us, to make contact in order to understand and learn.

Unite (v. tr.) 1. To bring together so as to form a whole. 2. To combine in interest, attitude, or action. (v. intr.) 1. To become joined or combined into a unit. 2. To act together in a common purpose or endeavor. Vivid, high-energy hues reflect the excitement of gathering to work, play, and celebrate together. When we unite, we come together with other individuals or groups to form something greater than any one. Unity is often built around a common purpose—a harmony of interests or values that create a shared identity. To be united is to be inclusive, seeing commonality and valuing our differences.
