1 Questions (Please use complete sentences for #4-7.)
How many of the following does your cube have? Vertices:_____ Edges:______ Faces:______ Find the SURFACE AREA of your cube. Show all work. Find the VOLUME of your cube. Show all work. For next year, I am considering using a cylinder with a height of 3 inches and a diameter of 3 inches. How would this affect the volume and surface area? Be specific! What was your favorite part of this project? Describe a challenge that you faced with this project or tell me your least favorite part of this project? Should I assign this project again next year? What changes should I make to this project? Cross-Sections Cube 50-point Project, Due date:_______ ‘ Name:____________________________ Standards: 7.G.A Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationship between them. 7.G.B Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume. Assignment: Create a 3-inch cube with four themed cross-section pictures. You may need these materials: computer, color printer, poster-board (provided, if needed), ruler scissors, glue, and/or tape. Details: Draw a net for a 3-inch cube on poster-board. Pick a theme (the example theme is “fruit.”) Search (Google Images) “cross-section” and find 4 themed photos. Put them on a PowerPoint slide (or other format) and resize them so they will fit in a 3x3-in square. Type your name, block, title, and labels for each of the pictures. PRINT (in color), CUT, ASSEMBLE (glue/tape) Answer questions on back. Construction: The cube is accurately measured (5pts), The construction of the cube is durable, neat, wrinkle-free, all edges are taped or neatly glued, the cube is not coming apart and the pictures are not falling off (9pts) _____/14 pts Faces: Pictures are in color and are appropriately-sized (3pts), fit the theme (3pts), there are four pictures of cross-sections and a “title face” with name block and title (5 pts), and the photos are labeled (4pts). _____/15 pts Questions: All questions are answered correctly and #4-7 are answered in complete sentences. (3 points each) _____/21 pts
