4 How can I help at home? Listen to your child read at least 4 times a week. Don’t forget to ask them questions about the book and the pictures. Recap letters and sounds from EYFS- phonics home learning. Have fun practising spellings and word packs. (Children will be tested weekly) Maths Challenge – Counting in steps of 2, 5 and 10 and times-tables!

5 Home Learning Reading. Word packs – leading onto spellings when children are ready. Phonic sound per week. Multiplication challenge. Little and often!

6 Bronze level – I can count forwards and backwards in steps of 10.
Times Table Challenge Times table challenge!!! Bronze level – I can count forwards and backwards in steps of 10.   Silver level – I can count forwards and backwards in steps of 10 and 2. Gold level – I can count forwards and backwards in steps of 10, 2 and 5. 7 How can you help us? Named PE kit and jumpers.
No earrings on PE days - Monday. No other jewellery. Named water bottle each day for your child. Book bags in every day. Wellington boots for outdoor learning. We always welcome parent volunteers too! Let us know if you can help out by changing books, listening to readers, test spellings, sticking homework into books etc.)

8 Guided Reading Reading is taught through guided reading.
Your child will read in a small group with the teacher each week.

10 Reading Assessment Your children are regularly assessed and will be moved to more challenging books according to their needs.

11 Cover Teachers In Autumn term our cover teacher will be
Mrs Karina Ogle. PPA (planning, preparation and assessment time). Intervention, group work or one to ones. Statutory testing (Yr1 screening).

12 Helping your child to become
more independent.  Thank you for helping to make your children really independent in the mornings! We have been very impressed by how grown up they have been! 

13 Book changes. Spellings. Sticking home learning in books. One to one reading.
